Work from home received a major push from the current global Coronavirus pandemic. But even before COVID-19 became a factor, a growing number of people had started saying goodbye to commuting to office everyday. Thanks to ever-evolving communication platforms such as Skype, FaceTime, Slack, Zoom, Google Meet and so on.
I really like the flexibility in working hours staying at home provides. I am at my best, working very early in the morning. Being able to set my own working hours allows me to work more efficiently and responsibility. It is not necessary to be full-time to become a productive member of the team. In fact, many types of work can be done effectively, if not more so, from a home office and Mintworxs is a place which provides this opportunity and does not believe in a concept of attendance in office.
"Morning starts fresh with a pot of tea by my side, and high priority work that requires the most concentration. I am a morning person, so this is great for me."
With new technologies and processes popping up, closing the skills gap can give one a significant advantage in their career progression. Whether we are learning an entirely new skill or improving on an existing one, it is the kind of thing that can set us apart from the crowd. Due to work from home environment, I am learning tools and techniques or new skills to enhance my overall skill set such as: Angular 8, WordPress which was not possible for me earlier.
Here are some other advantages I find working from home:
Health facilities : People who work from home have an easier time eating healthy and giving more time to spend with your family. This helps you feel less stressed, happier and maintain a better healthy lifestyle.
Easy to communicate : You won’t have to scramble to find a conference room or deal with a particularly chatty co-worker. (Granted, children and pets at home may be difficult for some remote employees.)
"While Working from home" has many advantages like sound mental health and financial benefits there are disadvantages too that can not be overlooked. The balance is curious here, depending on who you are, you are yourself!
You never quit work : Staying at home will mean that you will "never leave the office". This could mean that it becomes more difficult for you to “switch off” from the work that you produced that day. All this may increase your stress and worry levels.
More Difficult to Solve Problem : Simple problems, such as software issues, become more difficult to fix when you’re not in the office. It is more difficult and takes more time to try and help a person over the phone.
More distractions : The amount of distractions at home can increase. Factors such as noisy neighbours, family or friends will mean that your productivity and concentration levels may fall. It can be more interrupting than you might think!
Important Tips: Take regular breaks. It’s important to have a routine when working from home but that doesn’t mean work should become vapid. Happy Working from Home.
